Galvanize Your Church

As the body of Christ, the church has a huge opportunity to be the functioning hands and feet in serving their local pregnancy center.

Support Your Local Pregnancy Center

Share these practical ways anyone can do to support their local pregnancy center. Help engage your church to take action together in pairs or larger groups.

The first and important action you can take is to pray. Pray by yourself or with group prayer meetings. Subscribe to your local pregnancy center’s newsletter to track and pray alongside them.

Go and Learn

Find and connect with your local pregnancy center to see what their specific volunteer needs are.

Walk for Life

This is a fun way to raise awareness, fundraise or even invite your friends at church to go as a group.

Attend the Annual Gala

Raise funds by purchasing a gala ticket, galvanize your friends at church to go together and celebrate with staff on how women chose life at that center.

Become a Mentor

Your local pregnancy centers might offer parenting classes and support groups. Check if you are qualified and able to mentor or teach.

Church Leaders Have a Vital Voice

Now more than ever, church leaders have opportunities to speak to their church about how God sees life and how their church to take tangible action together.

According to a study of 1,038 women who have had abortions:

70% claim a Christian religious preference

43% report attending church monthly or more at the time of an abortion
Many women with unplanned pregnancies go silently from the church pew to the abortion clinic.

What Church Leaders Can Do

Although talking publicly about abortion can be a challenge, be an encouraging voice for a church-wide culture of how God sees and values life.

Support and walk alongside women at your church who are going through an unexpected pregnancy and are contemplating parenting, adoption or abortion.

Offer post-abortive support and resources to mothers and fathers at your church that are healing from a past abortion experience.

Why Pregnancy Centers?

Pregnancy centers often host the most critical conversations surrounding life. Each appointment that a woman in an unexpected pregnancy courageously walks into is an opportunity for life, every time.

Her experience should include: compassionate care, medical excellence, an opportunity to see her baby through an ultrasound and other resources that value her and the life she carries.

The Option Ultrasound Program, by Focus on the Family, distributes 16 types of grants which includes: nurse salaries, extended hours, medical training and more. These grants are designed to help pregnancy centers successfully support her value and the value of her baby. When we see life, we take action.
